Sony World Photograph Awards Exhibition
Every year in April the World Photography Organisation holds the biggest festival for awarding excellence in this artistic field. Throughout Spring the festival showcases some of the most dazzling and beautiful images to ever be captured on camera.
With work by over 600 photographers on display there is enough artistic and aesthetic variation to satisfy anyone’s taste. The event is hosted in the iconic venue of Somerset House right in the heart of London. This makes it easily commutable. It also means visitors can enjoy the exhibition while also being able to have some of London’s most well known tourist attractions within walking distance. For this reason the event is ideal for those who want to enjoy a fun and culturally enriching day in the metropolitan city.
The 2018 festival will be taking place from 20th April till 6th May. The doors will be open every day throughout these dates. One of the attractive reasons for families to visit is the fact that concession tickets are available for children 12-16 years old. Children who are aged younger are permitted into the festival for free.
Photography is a relatively young art from when compared to paintings and sculpture. Despite this there are hundreds of fantastic images produced both on film print and digitally. This festival brings the finest available selections under one roof. When in London this is not an art event to be missed.
